We just did a bridal show a few weeks ago, we had so much fun and got to meet a lot of brides.
So I thought it would be fitting for our next post we would give some advice to our brides.
REMEMBER Be who you are it's your day!
HELPFUL HINTS & TIPS
1. Invitations! Those beautiful cards covered in jewels and lace with all the matching details. That will cost you. (a lot)
Many of todays brides are going for email and postcard style invitations. It's a total DIY and you can save hundreds of dollars.
So many online companies have it where you download your engagement photo in a postcard style.
Or you can buy your own template online and send a email wedding announcement to all your guests.
This is a huge way to save money.
2. Programs! There just a distraction on your wedding day, people are just going to leave them right where they sat.
Your guest can follow along easily without a piece of paper to tell them what's happening next.
3. Wedding Cake! They come so big and beautiful that you don't want to cut it. Then don't! Skip it completely if you want to.
Desert buffet is huge now, so many yummy little tasty bite size treats. Custom your table, pick a few deserts
that is yours and your spouses favorite, and use that as your desert. Plus it would mean so much more.
4. Menu! This is something you have to have, but you can save money. If your holding your reception at a catering location choose
a menu that is something tasteful and simple, you don't need a 5 chorus meal and your guest don't expect it anyway.
If your doing your reception on your own, have fun be creative. Choose your favorite meal. If it's pizza have a pizza buffet.
If it's an outside location do a BBQ. Have fun let it reflect on who you are.
5. Favors! If you feel that you just need to have them. Go totally DIY there are so many cute ideas online that it's mind blowing.
And you can get your family to help out in putting everything together. I've seen everything from cotton candy in cute bags to m&m in jars.
6. Music! It does set the mood for receptions. Hiring a band can be costly. By hiring a DJ can save you some money.
If you just don't have it in your budget at all, then start with buying your favorite songs and loading them on your phone.
Get yourself an external speaker hook it up and play the your music have fun with what you choose for songs.
Have a friend be in control of when it needs to be stopped or turned down.
7. Advice! If other want to offer advice take it all in, you don't need to take any of it. But if your trying to get ideas in more areas to save money
ask some other how they would do it. Getting advice from someone never hurts, it just make you think of something
that you might have never thought of. Enjoy your day and all the amazing ideas that you will come up with.
